ELEMENTAL EXILES: AN OVERVIEW BY REPACK GAMES
In this Deck Building Roguelike, you are gonna follow a bunch of cool characters, each with their own epic quest. And you will build up your arsenal of abilities to tackle any challenges that pop up as you explore the world with new surprises in every playthrough.
Now, here’s where it gets really interesting—there are 12 unique characters scattered across the map, each rocking a different deck of abilities. You start with 4 unlocked characters, but there are 8 more hidden ones waiting to be discovered. Each one has their own story, and it’s up to you to guide them to glory—or at least help them find some closure.
For example, you could play as a naïve Elven warrior still trying to protect the village that kicked them out, or maybe an old Dwarven researcher on a mission for some secret knowledge. Or how about a bitter bounty hunter on the hunt for her backstabbing ex-partners? And let’s not forget the young water mage searching for the master who betrayed her. As you travel the world map fills in with every step revealing more of the landscape and giving you the chance to revisit your favorite spots or tackle unfinished business with new strategies. Plus the map stays filled out across playthroughs so you can always come back and try a different path.
When it comes to battles timing is everything. In Elemental Exiles, cards have special effects that only kick in when certain conditions are met—like being the first card you play in a turn or following up with a card of the same element. Whether you trigger these effects can totally change the outcome of a fight, so think ahead when picking new cards for your deck.
Most cards align with one of three elements—Fire, Water, or Nature. Each element has its own strengths and weaknesses, so while your Fire deck might be awesome against tree spirits in the forest, it could struggle against water elementals near the coast. Will you go all-in on one element for maximum synergy, or mix things up to cover your weaknesses?
Each character starts in a different spot on the map, with their own quest and starting deck. The map has over 200 unique locations, and while most encounters change between playthroughs, you’ll keep knowledge of key routes and boss locations. Take on more than 300 unique battle scenarios, each with its own mix of enemies and tactics. Make your choices wisely—some encounters can have big effects on your deck, for better or worse. You can store up to 4 potions or bombs to use in battle when things get tough.
There are 14 hidden inns where you can spend your gold on new cards, items, and blessings. Every battle or event might give you a chance to add a new card to your deck, but your cards wear down with use, so you’ll need to keep updating your deck to survive.
