E.O.T.B is a first-person psychological horror game set in the eerie world of the Backrooms. Inspired by the creepy vibes of liminal spaces, I wanted to create a cinematic yet spine-chilling version of this unsettling universe.
You play as Oliver, a mechanic working in a secret underground lab where a shady organization is messing with time machines. When one of their machines goes haywire, it opens a portal to the Backrooms—a mind-bending dimension where time and space do not follow the rules. Just so you know, I built this game all by myself from scratch. Getting the visuals and sound to this level was super tough, so I’d really appreciate it if you keep in mind a few things: translations might not be perfect since they’re machinetranslated, and the graphics optimization tool can be a bit tricky to use.
I focused on making an intense atmosphere and stunning visuals with Unreal Engine 5.3. Next-Gen 3D Lighting Using Lumen for software and hardware ray tracing, including Ray Traced Shadows Accurate Global Illumination, and real-time lighting.
Immersive 3D Sound Powered by Microsoft’s Project Acoustics offering spatialized and binaural audio for a truly immersive experience. For next-level audio spatialization, making sounds feel lifelike and placing them all around you for a deeper more intense gameplay experience.
NVIDIA’s tech provides two upscaling methods to keep the game running smoothly while looking great. A detailed menu to tweak performance and controls to fit your preferences. Dive into the world of E.O.T.B and experience horror like never before!
