SUMMARY OF ECHOES OF THE BACKROOMS
E.O.T.B is a first-person psychological horror game set in the eerie world of the Backrooms. Inspired by the creepy vibes of liminal spaces, I wanted to create a cinematic yet spine-chilling version of this unsettling universe.
You play as Oliver, a mechanic working in a secret underground lab where a shady organization is messing with time machines. When one of their machines goes haywire, it opens a portal to the Backrooms—a mind-bending dimension where time and space do not follow the rules. Find a way to return to reality or get stuck in this twisted horror dimension forever.
Just so you know, I built this game all by myself from scratch. Getting the visuals and sound to this level was super tough, so I’d really appreciate it if you keep in mind a few things: translations might not be perfect since they’re machinetranslated, and the graphics optimization tool can be a bit tricky to use.
I focused on making an intense atmosphere and stunning visuals with Unreal Engine 5.3. Next-Gen 3D Lighting Using Lumen for software and hardware ray tracing, including Ray Traced Shadows Accurate Global Illumination, and real-time lighting.
