SUMMARY OF THE DEAD AWAIT
The Dead Await is a deck building open world survival RPG set in a zombie apocalypse. The world is gone to hell overrun by hordes of bloodthirsty monsters. Humanity’s barely hanging on, scattered across ruined cities, cold ashes, and surrounded by creatures that want to eat you alive.
You play as the leader of a caravan of survivalists trying to figure out what caused the zombie outbreak and, hopefully, start rebuilding civilization. But it’s not just the zombies you need to worry about—other humans might be the real threat while you’re making your way through the wasteland.
You will get to explore a huge world from crumbling cities full of zombies and loot to new settlements where survivors try to rebuild but there is plenty of backstabbing and hidden dangers. You will need to gather food water fuel and gear to keep the caravan moving all while managing your resources so everyone stays alive.
A huge part of the game is keeping your team’s sanity in check. You have got to deal with trauma injuries and the constant shortage of supplies. Zombies might be a threat, but the stress of survival could be even worse. You can build your character however you want using a detailed system for attributes skills and perks. Want to be a smooth lockpicker or a crazy berserker you can experiment with tons of different builds to suit your style.
The game’s combat is card based which is super unique. As you travel, you will collect new cards and build up your deck so your team of survivors can get stronger. Some of them will have rare cards that give them an edge in battle making your crew even more powerful. Gear plays a big role too. You can upgrade your survivors’ weapons and equipment, and don’t forget about food a good meal can give your team the edge they need to survive the wasteland.
