In Mohicans, part of the Small Wars series, you dive into the French and Indian War, which took place from 1754 to 1760. The game is based on a classic 1983 Canadian board game called Mohawk, where you control the British forces trying to take over parts of North America or the French forces fighting to defend their land the game mixes strategy tactics and history as both sides battle for control of cities and towns while trying to gain the support of the Iroquois Confederacy a powerful group of Native American tribes.
The British have more firepower and soldiers but the French are quicker and have the advantage of local knowledge especially in the dense forests of North America. Both sides also need to deal with their supply lines and troops coming in from Europe each year. You will fight in various locations like ambushes in forests battles at forts and raids on enemy towns. Winter brings reinforcements and gives you the chance to build forts or muster militias adding a whole new layer to your strategy.
The goal is to control key cities, with the British needing to hold three French cities by 1760 to win, or the French need to take British cities like Albany or New York the game supports both single-player and local multiplayer and it is designed for easy play on platforms like PC and Steam Deck with full controller support.
