SUMMARY OF FROM THE DEPTHS GONE TO SEA CHARACTERS
The second character content pack for From the Depths is here and it is got some cool new stuff to dive into. This pack includes four characters Sea Captain Diver Sailor 1 and Sailor 2. Yep these are modified versions of models from the Unity Asset Store, but they’ve been heavily tweaked to fit perfectly into the FTD framework. Why reinvent the wheel when experts already make awesome models The goal here is to let players use interesting characters on their ships and customize their avatars if they want.
Even better, once you own one of these character packs you will be able to import your own models! The documentation for that is coming soon so stay tuned. And here is the cool part a few extra goodies will be added to this pack in the next few weeks so there is more to look forward to.
If this pack is not your style do not worry—there’ll be other packs with different kinds of models coming soon. You can use these to change your avatar from the default Rambot to something else all through the customization “Z” UI under the avatar tab. This works in multiplayer too. You can even place an animation block select your models, and set custom animations. For even more control use breadboard functions to switch animations or adjust movements. Plus when you buy a character DLC you unlock more animations and voices making your creations feel even more alive.
So, why is this pack cheaper than the Steel Striders anime pack. Simple you can not manipulate the faces on these models like you could with the anime ones. But they’re still perfect for roleplaying taking pictures populating your ships or even just for memes. Or maybe you just want a different avatar.
